All For Naught

J.J. Abrams may produce a film that brings The Micronauts the Japanese Microman toy line to the big screen says The Wall Street Journal.

The toys, first released in 1974 and later in 1976 in the US under the 'Micronauts' name, were a mix of 3.75-inch tall action figures, vehicles, robots, play sets, and accessories. All used a universal, five millimeter inter-connective design allowing people to swap around various parts.

Palisades Toys bought the rights to reproduce Micronauts in 2002. Marvel created a tie-in comic book that began in 1979.

No doubt the idea is in respose to the success of “Transformers" pics.
