Paramount Pictures is developing writer Chad St. John's action adventure spec script "The Further Adventures of Doc Holliday" reports Variety.The Pirates of the Caribbean-style but history-based pic will follow the Tuberculosis -ridden gunfighter who formed a strong friendship with Western lawman Wyatt Earp.
Val Kilmer played Doc in the 1993 film Tombstone (pictured) to raves. Dennis Quaid less so starred as Holliday in Kevin Costner's "Wyatt Earp"
Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce the pic.
Whoever lands in Doc's shoes will have tough road doing as well as Kilmer did in the role...
I don't know quite yet how I feel about turning the story into more of an actioner....
