Gov. De Niro?

Robert De Niro is attached to play Alabama George Wallace in "Selma", a civil rights drama from Precious director Lee Daniels Deadline Hollywood Daily.



De Niro would play the Alabama governor who famously refused to allow Desegregation in his state--which lead to the famous Selma to Montgomery marches in Alabama.

The film is expected to begin production sometime later this year.

De Niro curent plate also includes Paul Weitz's "Another Night in Suck City " and a possible “Midnight Run" sequel.
