Panel Discussions

From The Comic Book Film Files:

*"Iron Man 2" has yet to be released, and there's already been talk about the next movie.

In a recent interview with MTV War Machine co-creator Bob Layton spoke on the possible storyline for "Iron Man 3".

"I think they've come up with a terrific segue to the third film, which I think is going to be fairly powerful," Layton said. "My understanding is that the third film could very well be the Demon in a Bottle story mixed in there with everything and I'm kind of looking forward to that, if that's where they wind up going."

Demon is a nine-issue story which follows Tony Stark dealing with his alcohol addiction while trying to save his company and reputation from Justin Hammer. Written by David Michelinie with art by Layton, and was first published in 1979.

Downey's own personal demons would serve him well if Bottle is the road they take in the 3rd film .It's a great story.

*Producer Michael De Luca spoke with Collider recently about the current state of Ghost Rider 2.

Mark Steven Johnson is not directing the sequel, potentially called "Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance"; Eva Mendes will not return as Roxanne Simpson. The action will be 'hard PG-13', likely shot in 3-D (Ugh!) and set in Europe.

Writer David Goyer has just delivered his updated outline to the studio and may direct but it will depend on his schedule. And filming could kick off before the end of the year.

*The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier would love to direct the upcoming comic book pic The Avengers.

Speaking to MTV he says that he would love to work with Iron Man director Jon Favreau who took himself out of the big chair but will produce the movie.

I hope they don’t find a director before I’m available, because I’d love to take a crack at [the team up]. Jon Favreau would’ve been the best director to do this thing, but now that he’s producing, I’d love to be able to work with him and continue what I started with Hulk and what he started with Iron Man and we do it together and continue that universe.”

You've got a willing participant in Leterrier--The studio should make it happen.

*Lastly Favreau's 3-D comic adaptation Cowboys and Aliens is slated to start shooting in July.
