Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been hired to pen the screenplay for Deadpool the "X-Men" spin-off seen in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" says Variety confirming a month old rumor from CHUD.



Ryan Reynolds played the wisecracking mercenary character and is slated to return making time in his schedule after wrapping Martin Campbell's comic bok flick "Green Lantern" this summer.

Reynolds would already be in shape to play the anti-hero if the script is ready by the Summer.

The story will stay true to the mythology of "Deadpool" as Reynolds is a huge fan and has a vested interest in protecting the character.

Given Zombieland's sense of humor Reynolds' comedic delivery and Deadpool's personality--This is a good combo.
