Rapper sometime actor 50 Cent will star in and produce "Things Fall Apart" says Variety. The story follows a football running back in his final year of college who suffers a personal tragedy that makes him question his own mortality.
The rapper also known as Curtis Jackson is expected to shed 65 pounds for the role
Jackson co-wrote the script with Brian Miller.
Lynn Whitfield, comedian Mike P and Steve Eastin co- star
Randall Emmett will co-produce the sports drama.
Mario Van Peebles will direct and co-stars in the film with a five week shoot kicking off in May
