Goal Oriented

They must have enjoyed working on Friday's Cop Out quite a bit.

Director Kevin Smith wants Seann William Scott to play the lead role in his new Ice Hockey comedy "Hit Somebody" reports Coming Soon

Scott would play Buddy, a rough hockey enforcer prone to fighting who tries to improve his playing skills so that he can score just one goal.

The script is based on the
Warren Zevon Song with lyrics by acclaimed writer Mitch Albom

Smith told
NHL.com."I had all the elements in place, and the one thing I was missing was the personality. Generally I like to write to a voice, but I didn't know who that voice was or what that voice could be. And then after spending all the time with Seann on this movie, he's pitch perfect. He is that guy."

The script still isn't ready yet and Scott hasn't officially signed a contract, but it's likely to be all be done soon.
