Selene Dreams

Off rumors dating back to last year Kate Beckinsale will indeed be reprising her character Selene in the forth “Underworld” movie , but her return will merely be a cameo according to Bloody Disgusting and Variety.



Sources tell the site she's "trying to find a way out of the film ..." or at least have a smaller role in order to "pass the torch".

Beckinsale’s hubby Len Wiseman, will also return to direct the fourth installment after doing the first two movies, but opting out of the prequel “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” as did Kate

Screenwriter John Hlavin told the Heat Vision Blog recently that "[The new film] will satisfy old fans and excite new audiences, meaning that we don't want to redo the first three novies, so steps are being taken to honor what fans have loved but at the same time introduce fresh elements."

And of course Underworld 4 is being prepped as a 3-D pic... Ugh!

The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on January 21st 2011.
