Oscar co-host Steve Martin is poised to join the comedy The Big Year -replacing Dustin Hoffman says The Hollywood Reporter.

Taken from Mark Obmascik's 1998 novel about three avid bird-watchers trying to one-up each other in a competition to find the rarest birds in North America while each faces their own personal challenge.
