Drug Induced

Even as he seemingly remains in the running for The First Avenger: Captain America...

Chris Evans ("Fantastic Four," "Cellular") landed the lead role in the indie drama "Puncture" says Variety.

The story follows a troubled young lawyer who is forced to take on his own drug addicted demons while handling a case against a major health care provider.

Marshall Bell, Michael Biehn, Kate Burton, Brett Cullen, Mark Kassen, Jesse L. Martin, Tess Parker and Vinessa Shaw co-star.

Adam and Mark Kassen will direct the film from a script by Chris Lopata

"From the moment we heard about this story, we connected to what it says about the current state of our medical industry and the flawed hero that tries to fix it," Adam Kassen said.

Shooting is taking place in Houston, Texas.

This seems like Evans most challenging role to date. I would hope that the script doesn't get too political though despite the real life debate going on...But it probably will...

And what about Cap America? THR's Heat Vision blog. says Keira Knightley met with the suits to possibly play his love interest, the appropriately named Betsy Ross.

Stay Tuned...
