Graduating To Director

Oscar-winner Dustin Hoffman wants to sit in the big chair making his directorial debut on the film "Quartet" says The Daily Mail.

Based upon Ronald Harwood's ("The Pianist") 1999 stage play (which he will adapt), the story concerns a retirement home for opera singers in England.

Maggie Smith, Albert Finney and Tom Courtenay will star in the pic.

Finola Dwyer ("An Education") will produce the film which will begin shooting later this year.
