Speaking with MTV News at the SXSW Film Festival,Robert Rodriguez explains it was legal and financing problems that caused the "Red Sonja" film adaptation to seemingly evaporate..."If I kept the project myself, we could've just made it, but it belonged to another company that had financing problems... They had to wait until they made a couple of other movies first."
Rodriguez added "They're actually waiting until they make the Conan movie before they do that - to see how that works for them."
Meantime his lady love Rose McGowan confirmed she has been cast in the new Conan flick via Twitter saying that she is "happy to be kicking ass again."
