Based on the Michael Lewis nonfiction bestseller, the story follows Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) who assembled a contending baseball club on a shoestring budget by employing a sophisticated computer-based analysis to draft players.
Wright would portray Beane's ex-wife.

Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin wrote the script based on an earlier draft by Stan Chervin.
"Capote"--also starring Seymour Hoffman--director Bennett Miller will call the shots in July in Los Angeles.
