Follow The Rules


David Bowers ("Flushed Away") will make his live-action directing debut with Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules a sequel to Diary of A Wimpy Kid the movie says The Hollywood Reporter.

Zachary Gordon, Steve Zahn and Rachael Harris will all all be back in their roles in the sequel once again based on the Jeff Kinney's young adult novel series.

Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah adapted the script while the story this time focuses on Gteg Heffley, who this time around must deal with the punishments inflicted by his older brother Roderick (Devon Bostick)

Made for a modest $15 million, the film had a quiet opening in mid-March and yet went on to gross almost $64 million domestically. Bowers replaces Thor Freudenthal who helmed the first film but opted not to return for the sequel.

Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson will produce. Shooting aims to kick off this August in Vancouver for a March 2011 release. »
