For What It's Worth

Sam Worthington recently told Coming Soon that Clash of the Titans 2 will fully shoot in 3-D rather than undergo the conversion treatment like Clash of the Titans 2010 did

"[It} will be 3D this time. Shot in 3D. Do put that in and make them f--king aware... In regards to the conversion, I'm a Jim Cameron boy, so people know my opinions" said the Aussie actor who has already read the script and sent back suggestions. - "I said, 'I kinda dig where it's going, but can we make the character more of this? Can we make it more of that? Can I get to play a lot more and get involved and have a lot more f--king fun than just being a young man who has to stand there and look pretty?' I'm sick of doing that, so it's kind of a case of, 'How do we make Perseus a lot more fun?' So we're sort of shaping it down that track..."

Meantime there was recent word that an August 27th release date is set for the upcoming re-release of "Avatar " which includes eight minutes of new footage.

Worthington isn't exactly sure what that footage will be as they shot a lot more material and "I think the first cut I saw was about six hours long" says Worthington.

Yikes!

What about that infamous sex scene?

"There's a couple of extra hunting scenes. There's a much-speculated and blogged sex scene everyone keeps f--king harping on about. To be honest, I think everyone's going to be disappointed that's it's not blue porn... But there's a lot of other character parts."

He also addresses how faithful the still in development adaptation of The Last Days of American Crime will be telling MTV

We come from a cottage industry whether we’re making graphic novels in Australia or short films or major movies, You’re basically coming in from the get-go, and what that does is it gives you a bigger investment. We’re not in here as guns for hire or writing stuff that’s like a gravy train for young Samuel – that ain’t going to happen.”

Adding: [It’s] a case of, we can actually come in, have an investment from the very beginning, and then people will realize our passion for the story,” he said. “That helps. Audiences are smart. They know if we’re just kind of going along for the ride and not putting in 100 percent. But going in at the ground level, you definitely feel your feet getting wet.”

Worthington says that the film prep is well underway, but said that they weren’t yet sure exactly how similar a film version would be to the source material.

I think that comes down to which director we get on board,” he states. “I think for something primarily as graphic and violent and has a certain kind of style as 'Last Days' does, at the moment we’re fleshing out more of the substance of it.
