Stay Alive After School

Although he missed out on playing Spider-Man young Josh Hutcherson is keeping busy...

He is set to star in and executive produce the indie teen horror-comedy "Detention" for Variety.

The story centers on teens who must survive their final year of high school. Standing in their way is a slasher-movie killer who has seemingly come to life.

Dane Cook also stars.

Joe Kahn ("Torque") and Mark Palermo wrote the script.from which Kahn will direct

He is also co-producing the pic with Richard Weager, Maryann Tanedo and David Kang.

No release dates are set yet but Hutcherson is expected to film it in Los Angeles in August before kicking off principal photography on"Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D" in October.
