Sly's Men Suck The Air Out Of The Room

The star studded testosterone fueled actioner The Expendables remains the top movie in the US--fighting off 5 new releases...Vampires Suck does better than I thought it would...

THR Staff:

"The Expendables" is still packing plenty of muscle at the boxoffice as it knocks its competition out of the way and takes the No. 1 spot for a second straight weekend with $16.5 million. Sylvester Stallone's all-star action movie, which he also directed, raised its total to $64.9 million.

None of the week's five new films could topple "The Expendables."

"Vampires Suck" took in $12.2 million, for an overall total of $18.6 million since opening Wednesday. The "Twilight" spoof was in a close run for No. 2 spot with Julia Roberts' drama "Eat Pray Love," which took the third spot and earned $12 million, raising its grand total to $47.1 million.

'Expendables' is No. 1 movie: $16.5M...

Pretty bad when only one out of 5 wide releases makes the top 3...

The Summer movie season starts to wind down with the theatrical bow of Neil Marshall's Centurion--which has been available on PPV for weeks; Hayden Christensen, Matt Dillon and Chris Brown are Takers; Director Daniel Stamm and producer Eli Roth want you to witness The Last Exorcism
