Doing Belushi Right

Director Todd Phillips talked about that Untitled John Belushi biopic he is linked to , telling MTV News the project is still "in its very nascent stages"

"Our goal is to capture the spirit of Belushi, not necessarily make a straight-ahead biopic" he says, citing "Ray" and "Walk the Line" as 'traditional' models of a biopic. He hopes "to make a movie that, if John Belushi saw it, he would be happy that it captured his spirit... We're trying to take a very renegade approach to who I think was one of the most renegade comedy actors of all time."

No casting as yet and nothing is being ruled out.

Steve Conrad ("The Pursuit of Happyness") is at work on a story treatment with Phillips, but the script itself still down the road a bit...

Finally, Phillips adds that they "haven't nailed it yet" referring to that 'renegade approach'. in tone.

Casting this one will be tough whether they go unknown or not
