Mayne Man

British actor Eddie Redmayne (Steven Spielberg’s upcoming War Horse) lands the key role in "My Week with Marilyn" says The Daily Mail.

The story is based on a diary by Colin Clark, a young actor who worked for acting legend Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh) when he took Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams) around London while she shot "The Prince and the Showgirl" in 1956. Clark and Marilyn shared many confidences and became close despite her recent marriage to playwright Arthur Miller.

Redmayne will play Clark

Judi Dench, Zoe Wanamaker, Richard Clifford and Philip Jackson also star.

Redmayne was cast after an extensive search which lasted nearly a year.

I liken this casting and role to that of Zac Efron being in the underrated Me and Orson Welles

Simon Curtis directs and shooting kicks off in two weeks
