Do We Really Need To See Jar-Jar Up Close?!!
Ugh! But not a surprise in the least...As we discovered earlier this week..
All six films in the "Star Wars" franchise will be reissued to theaters with a new 3-D conversion in 2012 says THR
The 3-D deal starts with "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace". Each subsequent film will then be released annually around the same date over consecutive years.
Lucasfilm will take at least a full year with each conversion and will use several higher-end conversion houses to work on the project.
The reason for the 2012 release of the first film is that George Lucas is waiting for enough format screens to be available to create a 'huge event'.
Lucas is lining up the re-releases as a lead-in to the ultimate home-viewing experience like home 3-D TV tech being perfected in a few years.
This move will not affect Lucas' plans for a comprehensive 2D Blu-ray Disc set of the six films next year.
Not to be left out...
James Cameron is also planning to release a 3-D version of his award-winning “Titanic” into theaters in April 2012--to coincide with the 100 anniversary of the famed ship's sinking says The Hollywood Reporter..
Planning to boycott both "Events"
