Hungry For Some Bits?

-The first trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will premiere online on December 13th at 1pm US-PST. The global online launch comes ahead of it being attached to prints of TRON Legacy" on December 17th.

-World famous dog Benji will be making a big screen comeback in a new family adventure flick reports Variety.

-Michael Douglas is recovering nicely from his cancer treatments and is getting ready for Steven Soderbergh's Liberace biopic as his first post-illness role. Last month Douglas' co-star Matt Damon told Entertainment Weekly that "I’ve talked to Michael and everything’s on schedule for him, which is great. So we’ve all cleared our schedules and are all really excited about that happening".



-There's an animated film adaptation of the graphic novel series Clockwork Girl on the way according to a just issued press release.The first in a series, 'Girl' is a coming of age tale about a young robot girl named Tesla and a young monster boy named Huxley who set out to save their world from destruction. Alexa Vega and Jesse McCartney will voice the two characters. Joining them are Carrie-Anne Moss as Admiral Wells, Brad Garrett as T-Bolt and Jeffrey Tambor as Wilhelm.

-Director Catherine Hardwicke is in early negotiations to direct The Maze Runner says The Wrap. Based on the first novel in a popular sci-fi trilogy by author James Dashner, the story follows a boy named Thomas who awakens up in a strange enclosed structure called The Glade with no memory aside from his first name.Surrounding The Glade's tall stone walls is a large maze filled with monsters called Grievers. Every day boys known as 'Runners' venture into the labyrinth to map it in an attempt to find a way out. The Maze seems familiar to Thomas who has extraordinary abilities as a Runner, but strange things begin to happen which arouses the suspicions of the boys also trapped there.

-Author Daniel H. Wilson has sold film rights for his upcoming novel "AMP" reports Deadline.The story is set in the near future when technology designed to make the disabled whole turns them into supermen.Alex Proyas is in line to call action

-Ben Foster and Giovanni Ribisi are poised to join the $30 million thriller "Contraband" says Variety. An English-language remake of Óskar Jónasson's Icelandic thriller "Reykjavik-Rotterdam", the plot centers on a security guard and former alcohol smuggler (Mark Wahlberg) who is tempted back into illicit business by his brother-in-law after encountering financial problems. Foster will play the brother-in-law, Ribisi's role is undisclosed. Aaron Guzikowski ("Prisoners") is adapting the script while the original film's producer/star Baltasar Kormákur will direct the remake. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing. Shooting kicks off in January for a release in March 2012.  says

-Writer Jez Butterworth ("Fair Game," "The Last Legion") is teaming with Clash punk rock bandmembers Mick Jones and Paul Simonon for a film about the making of the band's famed 1979 album "London Calling" reports Screen Daily.

-Ben Stiller and James Franco are attached to Noah Baumbach’s upcoming film “While We’re Young,” reports Vulture. The story follows a free-spirited Brooklynite twenty-something couple who inspires an uptight documentarian and his wife to loosen up — with comedic consequences.There are offers out to Cate Blanchett and  Greta Gerwig to join the pic The documentarian's wife role was originally intended for Baumbach’s spouse e Jennifer Jason Leigh but the actress just filed for divorce from the director last week. Scott Rudin will produce.

-Chloe Moretz, Jackie Earle Haley and Bailee Madison are all attached to star in the indie black comedy "Dance of the Mirlitons" says The Hollywood Reporter. Evan Greenberg wrote and will be directing the story of an ambitious, slightly overweight ballerina (Madison) with an overbearing mother (Kristen Bell) who will stop at nothing to become a star.

-Paul Giamatti is in talks to join Cosmopolis-David Cronenberg‘s adaptation of Don DeLillo‘s novel according to The Playlist. The story is set across a 24-hour period and takes place almost entirely within a limousine which is making its way slowly through a city due to several events keeping traffic snarled Colin Farrell stars as a newlywed billionaire who cheats on his wife (Marion Cotillard), finds himself being stalked, attacked by a protester, and slowly losing his massive fortune.Giamatti's role wasn't mentioned but is likely to be either the stalker, or the 'darker villain' behind the swindle. No production schedule is set as those involved have various commitments well into next year.

-Ricardo de Montreuil has signed on to direct the coming-of-age drama "Lowriders" says The Hollywood Reporter. The story follows a kid from Pacoima with a dead-end job and dreams of building the perfect lowrider (a car with a low-riding suspension system). When he finds fortune and fame, the local bad ass wants a piece of him, and he questions his pursuit of the American dream. Journalist Cheo Hodari CokerNotorious") penned the script based on an idea from film producer Brian Grazer.

-Ang Lee continues to cast various roles for Life of Pi says the Times of India.

-Paul Dano has joined the cast of Rian Johnson’s time travelling thriller, Looper reports The Playlist. The story follows a group of assassins (Loopers) working for a crime syndicate who eliminate and dispose of captive targets that are sent to them. The genius however is that the syndicate exists three decades into the future. This causes the Loopers to dispose of a corpse that doesn't technically exist, while in the future the targets have truly vanished without a trace. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt star 

-Teresa Palmer and Joel Edgerton are now confirmed-- while Felicity Price and Antony Starr are joining Kieran Darcy-Smith‘s psychological thriller “Say Nothing reports Inside Film. Palmer and Edgerton play Dave and Alice, a married Australian couple who head off on a Cambodian holiday with her sister (Price) and her sister's boyfriend Jeremy (Starr). Said boyfriend mysteriously disappears and once back home a nasty secret emerges about the night of his disappearance.

-Josh Brolin is looking to direct a feature film version of a play by Dominique Cieri called Pitz & Joe. The screenplay for the film will be written by Maya Forbes (Monsters vs Aliens, The Rocker) reports Pajiba.The story follows a divorced painter and her ex-junkie brother who suffered brain damage in an motorcycle accident several years previous. Through flashbacks, the story follows how the two worked together to help his recovery.
