Never Too Old For This Sh*t?

Last week was a big week for getting a remake of Lethal Weapon off the ground .

The 80's action franchise about mismatched cops starred Mel Gibson and Danny Glover

Producer Joel Silver has hired Will Beall to write the script for the reboot at says Deadline.

Beall is a former LAPD officer who patrolled South Central and wrote the novel L.A. Rex . He's also written a few episodes of TV series "Castle" and the crime drama The Gangster Squad which Ruben Fleischer is directing.

Beall's pitch for the film is "a hard R-rated edgy street cop movie" that will use a new cast but keep the tone of the original.

The studio had at one time been considering a "Lethal Weapon 5" using a treatment written by LW creator Shane Black, however that never got off the ground

Also on the list are potential remakes for Warner Bros. are Sam Peckinpah's seminal western film The Wild Bunch, and a new version of  Michael Crichton's Westworld..
