Able To "Rise" Above Failure

Oscar Isaac has been cast as the male lead for the education drama "Still I Rise" says Variety.

The film follows two frustrated mothers (Maggie Gyllenhaal and Viola Davis) who join forces to transform an inner-city public school.

Isaac plays a sexy, ukulele-playing teacher who ultimately romances Gyllenhaal's character.

Daniel Barnz ("Beastly") directs from a script originally penned by Brin Hill which he then rewrote.

Mark Johnson will produce the pic

Issac is probably is doing this pic in part so that folks forget he was even in Sucker Punch...Come to think of it--It's pretty impressive that the guy who made Beastly was able to round up such a solid cast after that box office disaster.
