X-Cellent Outlook For X-FC

The early reviews for X-Men First Class say that the June 3rd prequel is 'a Huge Home Run'  If that's indeed true--a follow up film is a safe bet.

X-FC introduces, and in some cases reintroduces, new mutants. Would a sequel throw another new bunch of characters into the mix?

Director Matthew Vaughn told Movieweb, that any sequel to "First Class" would only add one major new character - an antagonist at that.

Vaughn says "We will only have one more new character. I won't say who he...I won't say who he or she is! But we will only be bringing one more new character in. Because, I think, as Professor X is in a wheelchair, Magneto needs to have a nemesis he can fight with. Someone that will be his equal. I know who it is. It would be nice if I could say something, but I can't, mate!"

Vaughn also hasn't ruled out the possibility of Sir Ian McKellen or Sir Patrick Stewart coming back for the sequel in a future sequence- "I have worked with Sir Ian McKellen before, and he is a lovely guy. I would love to work with him again. So, never say never!"

Is FC really the best film in the X-Men film series indeed the best Marvel flick thus far...?

Drew McWeeny of Hitfix "I am happier overall with "X-Men: First Class" than with any other film released so far in the "X-Men" franchise… This is ground zero, and I think Fox just got it right, really right, in a way I can't say it feels like they have on any of their Marvel films so far."

Hitfix editor, Greg Ellwood: "Ambitious, smart and when it's good, it's very good.,,."

Bleeding Cool says the film "contains some of the briskest and most efficient storytelling I’ve seen in any recent blockbuster,"  but adds some of the minor characters "get short shrift" which is typical in comic films that have more than 4 super-powered characters--Hello Cyclops

The footage that's been released looks really great!---The vibes are strong...
