The story centers on a cynical but charming Irish stand up comic who, while in New York, meets an intriguing American woman and the two connect.
Lee Cleary directs from a script by Jeff Murphy.
Lisa Katselas and Dan Reardon will produce and shooting will take place in Northern Ireland and New York.
Katselas had this to say about the project:
"Fairytale of New York lets us observe what most of us hope for in a relationship and then takes us further. To achieve this, we needed to find actors with a magical connection -- and we have in Kiefer and Kate"
