Arkin Joins Ago

Alan Arkin is in talks to join  Ben Affleck's Iran hostage crisis  flick Argo says Variety

Based on Joshuah Bearman's 2007 Wired magazine article, the wry political thriller would be centered on what happened during the occupation of the American embassy by Iranians in 1979, when a rescue effort was mounted by the CIA and the Canadian government to extract six U.S. diplomats.

The CIA used a disguise expert and concocted a scenario that involved the six being a Hollywood crew scouting a sci-fi movie titled "Argo:. Using those disguises, and with the help of artwork by legendary comics creator Jack Kirby, they were able to flee the country.

Arkin will play a Hollywood producer who’s an Office of Strategic Services Society veteran and is described as “equal parts bookie and rabbi.”

Chris Terrio wrote the screenplay

David Klawans, George Clooney and Grant Heslov will produce the pic
