After L.A podcast host Jeff Goldsmith tweeted it out as a Casting Rumor a week or so ago...It now seems closer to reality... Leonardo DiCaprio is officially in talks to play villian Calvin Candie in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained says Heat Vision
It should be noted that Tarantino is meeting with other actors, including Idris Elba, in case the actor passes on the project.
The spaghetti western style film follows a slave named Django who teams with German bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz on a mission to rescue his wife from a sadistic plantation owner.
Will Smith is the frontrunner for the lead.
Quentin originally wanted Leo to play Hans Landa in "Inglourious Basterds" before ultimately casting Christoph Waltz in the role. Waltz is eyed to play Schultz who trains Django and helps him on his quest. Samuel L. Jackson is being sought to play Stephen, the expert manipulator and house slave of the plantation owner.
