John Hlavin will write the film adaptation of the classic board game Risk says Deadline
In the multi-million copy selling game players compete on a map of the world, amassing armies and attempting world domination. Variations on the game have seen the settings change from various periods in world history to even the surface of the moon
The Risk film version was ammounced back in '09--Here's what studio suit Doug Belgrad had to say back then "...audiences have shown a great desire for films that bring to life everything that has made these franchise properties stand the test of time. The strategic thinking and the tactical gambles that players must take in the game are what make 'Risk' a classic, thoroughly engaging game. Those elements translated into an action-packed, thrilling story are what will make this a uniquely exciting movie."
Ugh! I hate suit-speak...Hlavin wrote the upcoming sequel Underworld: New Dawn
