Cranston Exits Squad

Bryan Cranston will likely have to drop out of the period crime drama "The Gangster Squad"
says Black Book Mag.



Based on a series of LA Times articles, the true story tale follows a secret "off the record" police task force in the 1940 who pursued high-profile gangster Mickey Cohen a member of the so-called Jewish Mob

Cranston's commitments to Ben Affleck's "Argo" will keep him from playing Max Kennard, a Texas transplant to LA with his own brand of justice

Will Beall, a former LAPD officer who patrolled South Central and wrote the novel L.A. Rex penned the script.

The film will be helmed by Ruben Fleischer.

Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling Michael Peña Josh Brolin Holt McCallany Giovanni Ribisi and Anthony Mackie also star

Dan Lin and Kevin McCormick are producing the film Shooting kicks off this Fall.
