Ribisi Is A 1-Man Geek Squad

Giovanni Ribisi has been cast in the period crime drama "The Gangster Squad" says Deadline.

Based on a series of LA Times articles, the true story tale follows a secret "off the record" police task force in the 1940 who pursued high-profile gangster Mickey Cohen a member of the so-called Jewish Mob

Ribisi will play Conway Keeler, a cop in the Squad who is an of electronics wiz

Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling Michael Peña Josh Brolin Bryan Cranston  and Anthony Mackie also star

Will Beall, a former LAPD officer who patrolled South Central and wrote the novel L.A. Rex penned the script.

Dan Lin and Kevin McCormick are producing the film Shooting kicks off this Fall.
