Bombeck Rewrites Wolverine

With filming delayed on The Wolverine by several months the studio has hired Mark Bomback to rewrite Christopher McQuarrie's script says Variety

The script initially written by McQuarrie is set mostly in Japan and based on the great mini-series by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont. The sequel will find our hero (Hugh Jackman) going toe to toe with the Silver Samurai

Naturi Naughton was cast last month to appear in the film. The trade points out that the setting will stay the same and in fact the entire cast will either be Japanese or Japanese-American with two exceptions--Jackman and whoever ends up playing a character named Viper.

Bomback also wrote the script for Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Killer and Len Wiseman’s Total Recall remake

James Mangold is still attached to direct the pic which should begin shooting next year.

I could see Bomback coming on for a major revision but this sounds like it should be just a polish if major elements are staying the same...
