Eric Brevig and actor Brendan Fraser will reunite on the long in development "William Tell: The Legend 3-D" reports Deadline
The story follows how crossbow marksman William Tell challenged the Hapsburg monarch Albrecht Gessler Tell's defiance when he was forced to shoot an apple off the top of his son's head after not wanting to bow in front of the king's statue. When the monarch inquires why Tell had two arrows in his quiver, the archer replied the other arrow was for the king in case he missed the apple. The incident ignited an uprising against the Austrian government which led to the formation of Switzerland.
Brevig ("Yogi Bear") replaces Nick Hurran on the historical family action adventure.
Chad Law and Evan Law are polishing the script that Scott Reynolds wrote.
Todd Moyer and Gary Hamilton will produce.
Shooting kicks off mid-March at the Castel Studios in Romania and on location in Switzerland.
