In the film Vince Vaughn and his "Dodgeball" co-star Ben Stiller play suburban dads who use the guise of a neighborhood watch group for some male-bonding time away from their families. They soon accidentally uncover a plot to destroy the world.
Crudup is in negotiations to play a “creepy and weird neighbor.” Not known for comedic turns... If Crudup takes this on it should prove interesting.
Jonah Hill will play Vaughn’s sidekick, one who constantly embellishes his past to include a rough and dark side. Actress Rosemarie DeWitt will play the wife of Ben Stiller's character. Nicholas Braun Will Forte Erin Moriarty and Richard Ayoade also star.
Schaffer is directing the project from a script by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
Shawn Levy is set to produce
Production is scheduled to start in Georgia sometime this fall. The pic is scheduled to hit theaters on July 27, 2012
