Craig Wanted For 5 More Bond Films

In an interview with The People (via The Daily Mail), Bond fim franchise producer Michael G. Wilson says he would love Daniel Craig, to do five more films after he wraps his third one called Skyfall--currently in production bringing his total to eight.

If Craig were to do just that it would make him the longest-running holder of the Bond role, ahead of Sir Roger Moore with seven, Sir Sean Connery with six (seven if you count Never Say Never Again) and Pierce Brosnan with four.

Wilson says "It’s certainly something we’ll be discussing with him once we finish shooting 'Skyfall. Filming has gone very well so far and I’d love Daniel to surpass Roger’s record and do eight pictures."

He goes on to say "Daniel’s been an absolute pleasure to be around because he takes the role so seriously. There’s really no one more passionate about making these films work than him – he’s a film maker’s dream. A lot of people have said Daniel’s been their favourite Bond since Sean Connery and I can’t argue with them. He’s doing a great job."

Asked about Skyfall, Wilson says the tone is very much back to Connery-era Bond - "The director Sam Mendes and Daniel are taking it back to a 60s feel – more Sean. I think that’s what the fans wanted. There’s a magical Goldfinger feel surrounding it all. It’s all very exciting."

Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Judi Dench, Simon Russell Beale, Rhys Ifans, Helen McCrory Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear also star.

Mendes calls action from a script by Patrick Marber John Logan Neal Purvis and Robert Wade

Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are producing the film.

The sequel arrives in theaters on November 9, 2012.
