-An official spokesperson for HBO told The NME that "There are no plans for a Flight Of The Conchords movie".

-Producer Mike Medavoy has optioned Christopher Buehlman's horror novel "Those Across The River" for the big screen says Deadline.

-Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has been out around Hollywood this week pitching a film adaptation of Doug Stanton book "Horse Soldiers" says Variety.

-1492 Pictures has picked up the film rights to Charles Yu's 2010 debut novel "How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe" in which Brendan Bellomo ("Bohemibot") will direct says The Hollywood Reporter.

-Walden Media has optioned screen rights to Gordon Korman's upcoming novel "Ungifted" says Deadline.

-Director Sofia Coppola is at work developing a film based on the infamous Bling Ring, also known as the Burglar Bunch, for her father Francis and his Zoetrope shingle reports TMZ.

-Julie Delpy is attached to direct "The Right Profile", a biopic of The Clash frontman Joe Strummer reports Variety.

-Paramount Pictures is in negotiations to acquire screen rights to Laini Taylor's young adult novel "Daughter Of Smoke and Bone" reports Deadline.

-Cross Creek Pictures, Exclusive Media Group and Hammer Films are teaming to produce a film adaptation of Cherie Priest's 2009 steampunk sci-fi novel ''Boneshaker'' reports Variety.

-Anthony Hopkins and Judi Dench are in talks for the lead roles in Kenneth Branagh's English-language film adaptation of "Italian Shoes"--Based on the 2006 novel by Swedish author Henning Mankell, says Variety.

-Bérénice Bejo ("The Artist") has joined the cast of the Nicolas Bary-directed adaptation of French writer Daniel Pennac’s 1985 novel "The Scapegoat" says Screen Daily.

-Paramount has hired "Orphan" and "Wrath of the Titans" writer David Leslie Johnson to adapt Daniel LuVisi's sci-fi graphic novel "Last Man Standing" reports Variety.

-Jane Goldman ("X-Men: First Class," "The Woman in Black") will adapt Ransom Riggs' novel "Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children" which director Tim Burton may helm says Deadline.

-Allan Loeb (“Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” “21”) has wsritten the script "San Andreas: 3D", a big budget 3D earthquake disaster pic for New Line reports The Los Angeles Times.

-Millennium Films has acquired the rights to the Chris Baldi written comedy "Guys Night" says Reuters. The story follows four men working at dead-end jobs and involved with less-than-satisfying relationships whose lives get more adventurous as they set out for a mystery island off the coast of New Jersey.

-Sony Pictures is negotiating to pick up 'Colbert Report' writer Max Werner's comedy pitch "Joy" says The Hollywood Reporter in which Jason Winer ("Arthur" remake) will direct. The story is based on a "This American Life" segment about people with cataplexy, a kind of narcolepsy which leads them to pass out whenever they feel a strong emotion.
