Auburn Makes A Discovery

Playwright and screenwriter David Auburn ("Proof," "The Lake House") is set to pen the adapted script of author Deborah Harkness' supernatural fantasy novel "A Discovery of Witches" says Heat Vision.


The story follows a scholarly woman who is a direct descendant of the first woman executed at the Salem witch trials She soon discovers a long-lost manuscript in Oxford's Bodleian Library that may contain the secret of immortality, and becomes caught up with a 1,500 year old vampire and tries to stop an inter-species war between witches and vampires.

Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan will producing.

The book is the first part in a planned trilogy.
