In the film Kirkland plays Alice, a 70 year-old widow who must enter the workforce for the first time in her life after an investment made by her late husband goes wrong. At the same time she tries mending relationships with her estranged daughter and autistic son.
Brent Roske wrote the script and will direct the film.
Andrea Fellers Shane Stanley Carl W. Lucas and Tiffany Johnson are producing the pic.
Kirkland co-starred in director Roske's short film African Chelsea.
