Inspired by the Robert F. Nelson memoir "We Froze The First Man ", the true story follows Nelson, a TV repairman who in the 1960s joined a group of enthusiasts who believed they could cheat death by using a new technology called Cryonics.
Everyone is said to be locked save for Wiig whose commitments and other offers may mean that she might have to opt out.
Zach Helm ("Stranger Than Fiction") penned the script
Steve Zaillian, Garrett Basch, Ira Glass and Alissa Shipp are producing.
Production will kick off sometime this year.
