Zeta-Jones Has Effect On Soderbergh's Pill

Catherine Zeta-Jones has joined the cast of Steven Soderbergh's $30 million dollar sexual thriller "Side Effects" aka The Bitter Pill reports Deadline.

The pic stars Blake Lively as a troubled, depressed and often medicated woman who gets into a relationship with another doctor (Jude Law). She is medicated to help her deal with the anxiety surrounding the pending release of her husband (Channing Tatum) from prison.

Zeta Jones will play a doctor.

Soderbergh and his Contagion (which starred Law) writer Scott Z. Burns came together on the story for Pill. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing alongside Burns and Gregory Jacobs

The casting of CZJ comes as Annapurna Pictures, which was going to finance the film, has pulled out of the production reports Variety

Despite the dropout, the pic has already seemingly received multiple funding offers and is expected to have a deal in place before the end of the Sundance Film Festival this weekend.
