Crowe & Neeson Eyed For Noah

Director Darren Aronofsky is pursuing Russell Crowe to play the title role in his epic "Noah" says Deadline.

The "Black Swan" director is also said to be after Liam Neeson for another role in the project. In a recent interview, cinematographer Matthew Libatique revealed that the story will also have a villain... Perhaps Neeson is the person they want to cast in that role?

Aronofsky & Ari Handel, wrote the original script for "Noah," but they evenually handed re-writing duties to John Logan (The Last Samurai, Gladiator).

Aronofsky, Mary Parent and Scott Franklin are producing the pic.

Production could start this Summer for a late 2013 debut
