24 Movie Clock Stops

It looks like that film version of 24 is dead says Deadline.

Though never officially green lit, the film had a script in which Mark Bomback ("The Wolverine" "Shadow Divers") had tweaked  from Billy Ray's initial script that was reportedly going to be the first in a possible film trilogy.

The TV show 24 followed a day in the life of counter terrorist hero on the run Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland)

The goal was to go into production when Sutherland's new series "Touch" goes on hiatus in April and a director was close to being selected when the decision was made this week to not go forward.

Fox reportedly wasn’t convinced that there was enough time to finish the film before Sutherland had to go back to work on the series.

There was also key disputes over budget - Fox wanted to spend $30 million, producer Imagine Entertainment wanted a budget of  $50-60 million.

It's uncertain now if Fox will continue working on the film anyway--But both sides are open to compromise on the budget.
