Callan Mulvey Goes To War...Twice!
Aussie actor Callan Mulvey (TV's "Rush," "Underbelly") has been cast in both the upcoming sequel "300: Battle of Artemisia" and Kathryn Bigelow's war drama "Zero Dark Thirty." says insideFilm
The details for either role are not yet known.
Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad's script for Battle is based on the upcoming graphic-novel sequel by Frank Miller.
Sullivan Stapleton has won the lead role as Themosticles--the general of the Greek army. Eva Green co-stars in the role of Artemisia, the ruthless, gold-covered goddess who persuades king-turned-god Xerxes to amass his army and helps lead the charge against the Greek forces. Jamie Blackley will play Calisto, a teen whose desire to become the heroic man/soldier his father was leads the 16-year-old to become a leader of a small band of soldiers. Rodrigo Santoro is in talks to play Xerxes again
The giant battle at the center of the film is said to be happening simultaneously with the events of the original "300."

As for Zero writer Mark Boal extensively researched the film which centers on an elite Black Ops team's attempt to assassinate Osama bin Laden almost a decade ago, an effort that came very close to succeeding.
His death last year meant a few rewrites.
Joel Edgerton, Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba, Kyle Chandler, Edgar Ramirez, Tom Hardy, Chris Pratt, Guy Pearce Jennifer EhleHarold Perrineau Australian actor/stuntman/filmmaker Nash Edgerton Fares Fares and Yoav Levy Mark Strong also star.
Boal, Bigelow and Megan Ellison are producing the film.
The pic has December 19th release date and starts filming net month.
Mark Canton, Bernie Goldmann, Zack, and his wife Deborah Snyder and Gianni Nunnari will produce the picture.
