Crowe Is Noah For Aronofsky

Russell Crowe has seemingly been CONFIRMED to play the title role in director Darren Aronofsky's epic "Noah" says Deadline.

An official announcement of Crowe's involvement is expected next week.

The "Black Swan" director was also said to be after Liam Neeson for another role in the project but that casting is just speculative at this point. In a recent interview, cinematographer Matthew Libatique revealed that the story will also have a villain... Perhaps Neeson is the person they want to cast in that role?

Aronofsky & Ari Handel, wrote the original script for "Noah," but they evenually handed re-writing duties to John Logan (The Last Samurai, Gladiator).

Aronofsky, Mary Parent and Scott Franklin are producing the pic.

Production could start this Summer for a late 2013 debut
