US V. UK Prometheus Trailers

The International trailer for director Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" hit the Net yesterday and offers up quite the contrast to that of the US version released a day earlier.....

Rather than the quick cutting action packed intense US peek--The UK version plays out at a leisurely pace allowing viewers to take in the grand vistas of an alien planet landscape. It's a slow build to the horror that awaits the explorers...And yet.... It still retains some of the call backs to Alien seen in previously released footage--they are just not as overt here.

Both peeks are very effective--and well constructed --but I have to admit that I prefer the UK peek and being able to soak up more detail than I did the US trailer.

Michael Fassbender Charlize Theron Noomi Rapace Idris Elba Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green Ben Foster and Kate Dickie star. With Emun Elliott Patrick Wilson and Benedict Wong also in the cast as well. Guy Pearce cameos as Peter Weyland CEO of Weyland-Yutani that became the big biz of the franchise

Damon Lindelof worked with director Scott on the film script, which was originally written by Jon Spaihts.

Scott is said to have shot both an R rated and a PG-13 rated version of the script.

The pic has a June 8th, 2012 release date.
