WB Rebuilds The Dark Tower?

Warner Bros is close to making a deal to revive Ron Howard's adaptation of Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" which was nixed at Universal Pictures reports Deadline.

Previously the plan was to tell the epic tale over the course of three films bridged by two limited-run TV seasons.

Warners has picked up Akiva Goldsman’s script for the first film and are paying him to do a polish.

Howard remains attached to direct, likely in very early 2013--With actor Javier Bardem still seemingly attached to star as gunslinger Roland Deschain depending upon his availability.

Goldsman, King and Brian Grazer will produce.

If the TV plan moves ahead, Warners-owned HBO seems a lock to air the series side of "Tower"
