De Niro, Walken Make "Last" Stop In Vegas

Robert De Niro is closing a deal and talks are underway with Christopher Walken to star opposite Michael Douglas in the comedy "Last Vegas" says Vulture.

Described as a senior's version of The Hangover meets Grumpy Old Men, Dan Fogelman's script sees four estranged male childhood friends (now in their 70's) who reunite in Vegas to finally marry off the lifelong unmarried playboy of the group. Tensions flare when two of the group - said playboy Billy and the widower of the group Paddy both vie for the affections of the same lounge singer.

Jon Turteltaub ("National Treasure") will direct.

The infamous Jack Nicholson was previously offered a lead role but there's still no word whether he's gona do the flick. And then Richard Jenkins, the now retired Gene Hackman, and Morgan Freeman (who was attached to the very similar “Dirty Old Men”) were on the studio's wish list as well.

Peter Chelsom was attached to direct at one point

Laurence Mark will produce. Nathan Kahane will executive produce.
