Rambin Goes From Games To Sea Monsters

The Hunger Games co-star Leven Rambin has been cast as Clarisse, daughter of Ares and a skilled warrior in the sequel Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters says Variety.

Thor Freudenthal helms this follow-up to 2010's The Lightning Thief with Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson reprising their roles.

The film series follow an ordinary boy who discovers that he is the son of the Greek god Poseidon. In the 2nd book by author Rick Riordan Percy and his group of friends set out to find the mythical Golden Fleece and free a friend who has been captured.

Just as Nathan Fillion replaces Dylan Neal from the first film as Hermes, the father of antagonist Luke (Jake Abel) in the sequel--Anthony Head replaces Pierce Brosnan who played Chiron last time out. Mary Birdsong, Yvette Nicole Brown and Missi Pyle will play The Fates, the sisterly trio of mythological goddesses who determine the destiny of all. Douglas Smith also stars

Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski ("Ed Wood," "Agent Cody Banks") wrote the script using elements from other books in the series as well.

Shooting kicks off next week in Vancouver. Chris Columbus (who directed the first film) and Karen Rosenfelt will produce the pic with a March 26, 2013 release date set.
