TDKR: Trailer News, EW, And Pics

The final trailer for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises will likely be attached to prints of Tim Burton's Dark Shadows on May 11th....

In the meantime Entertainment Weekly headlines TDKR as part of their annual Summer Movie Preview issue. In the piece comes some interesting quotes from director  Nolan, actors Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy about their villain characters:

Hardy says Bane's voice is influenced by the comic book character’s Caribbean heritage, his voice, and the concern over its muffled quality that caused a stir- "It’s a risk, because we could be laughed at — or it could be very fresh and exciting..The audience mustn’t be too concerned about the mumbly voice. As the film progresses, I think you’ll be able to tune to its setting."

Of Hathaway's Catwoman, Nolan says "She has a very strong way of protecting herself and those she cares about which implies an underlying darkness."

Meanwhile, Cardboard Cutouts posted pictures of Batman, Bane and Catwoman they're selling as merchandise from the film and you can find high quality versions here including a nice shot of Hathaway really showing off that skin tight cat-suit.

Finally, several new photos from the film hit the web yesterday though they were extremely poor quality magazine scans. Now though decent (if still a little soft) versions of them have just arrived via Batman News:

Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Marion Cotillard Josh Pence, Alon Aboutboul and Nestor Carbonell star along with a return of the trilogy's ensemble cast such as Morgan Freeman Gary Oldman and Michael Caine Cillian Murphy and Liam Neeson might also be making a cameo

Matthew Modine Tom Conti Joey King Daniel Sunjata Diego Klattenhoff Christopher Judge "CSI: Miami" co-star Adam Rodriguez and Burn Gorman take on secondary roles. Rob Brown and Italian actor Massi Furlan have small roles in the film as well

Nolan called action on the DKR from a screenplay he wrote with bro Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Nolan and David S. Goyer that features Bane (Hardy) and Catwoman (Hathaway) plotting to take down Batman (Bale).

The sequel is set to hit theaters on July 20th, 2012.
