Original Writer Back For "Blade Runner" Sequel

Original "Blade Runner" co-scribe Hampton Fancher is in talks to write an idea for Ridley Scott's early in development Untitled Blade Runner Sequel says Heat Vision.

The deal for the new pic was made over a year ago when Alcon Entertainment won the franchise rights which stated they could essentially do what they wanted with one exception - they could NOT remake the original. All parties remain mum but do confirm the pic will be set "some years after the first film concluded".

Fancher and and David Peoples adapted the script for the 1982 sci-fi classic based upon author Philip K. Dick's story Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Scott, Broderick Johnson, Andrew Kosove, Bud Yorkin and Cynthia Sikes Yorkin will produce the pic.
