Pfeiffer May Visit Malavita

Michelle Pfeiffer is in talks to play Robert De Niro's wife in director Luc Besson's new mafia-themed thriller "Malavita" says Digital Spy.

The pic is an adaptation of  author Tonino Benacquista's novel Badfellas and the story follows a mob family that relocates to Normandy under a witness protection program. However, the family finds that old habits die hard.

Besson who will also produce the film--writes the adapted script with Michael Caleo

If Pfeiffer signs on for the project, it won't be her first time working with De Niro - the pair previously appeared on screen together in 2007's fantasy adventure Stardust.

Production begins in August.
